What Bilanzi is

Bilanzi is bookkeeping software for Swiss businesses that runs in the browser. You use it for receipts, entries, invoices, contacts, VAT and the year-end close.

Bilanzi keeps growing. What works today and what is still missing is stated openly on the home page.

Your account

You sign up yourself, with Google, with Apple, or with your email address and a password. You can start posting entries once your email address is confirmed.

Give true details when you sign up. Keep your password to yourself, and ideally set up a second factor.

If you keep the books of another business, you need its consent. You decide who can see and do what in your business through roles and invitations.

The Free plan costs nothing, and that will not change

The Free plan is free of charge and has no time limit. It includes one company, two people and the bookkeeping core without the VAT return. Storage for receipts has a limit, and the pricing page states it.

When you set up your first business, it starts on the Free plan. If it received a Starter trial before 27 September 2026, that trial runs until it ends. After that it moves to the Free plan without you doing anything, and everything you posted stays.

We never ask for a credit card or any other payment details for the Free plan. The Free plan never turns into a paid plan on its own. You only have a paid plan if you sign up for one yourself.

Your books remain your responsibility

You may run your real business on Bilanzi. That is what it is built for.

Bilanzi is a tool. The duties under the Code of Obligations and the VAT Act stay with your business. Bilanzi does not keep your books for you, and it replaces neither your fiduciary nor your auditor.

There are three things you need to know today. The VAT return is calculated, but it carries a visible reservation and is filed nowhere. Payroll only calculates once the contribution rates have been released in the program, and it is not Swissdec certified. There is no direct connection to a bank.

AI, payroll and the API

The AI, payroll and the interface other programs use to work with your books belong to the paid plans.

Each month the AI reads as many receipts as your plan includes. With a paid plan there are packs of extra receipts. A pack never expires.

An AI proposal stays a proposal. Nothing is posted until you accept it. For these proposals the receipt goes to Infomaniak in Geneva, and the processing takes place in Switzerland. The details are in the privacy notice.

The limits of the Free plan

The Free plan has these limits: one company, two people and limited storage for receipts. The VAT return is not included. Businesses set up before 25 September 2026 keep it. We do not count entries or invoices.

When you reach a limit, only the next addition is refused: no second company, no third person, no further receipt when the storage is full. Everything already there stays, and you keep posting as before.

Your accountant does not count as a person when they work through a mandate. Each person can have only one business on the Free plan. To set up another, the first needs a paid plan.

What we do not promise

Bilanzi runs without a promise of any particular availability. There can be faults and interruptions, and individual screens can change.

What we do promise is the care behind it. A posted line is never overwritten. Every action is recorded in the audit trail. The database holding your books is in Switzerland. When something goes wrong, we tell you rather than quietly repairing it.

Keep your books anyway the way you would without us. Take an export regularly and file it with your other business records.

Paid plans

Besides the Free plan there are the Starter, Business and Fiduciary plans. What they include and what they cost is shown on bilanzi.ch.

They cannot be bought yet. Buying one will be governed by separate terms of sale. Those only apply once buying is possible, and you will see them before you sign up for anything.

What you book stays

Your data stays as Bilanzi grows. You never start over, and you never have to load anything back in yourself.

If you later move to a paid plan and then cancel it, you are back on the Free plan. Everything you have booked stays in place.

If, against our intention, we had to shut Bilanzi down, we would say so well in advance. You could then take out your books in full before anything was switched off.

Taking your data out, and stopping

You can reach your data at any time. Under «Take the books out» you get your books as files, with the journal, accounts, contacts and receipts. That depends on no deadline and no plan.

Keeping your books for the period the law requires remains your duty. So take them out before you stop.

If you want to stop, tell us. We then delete your account. Your business’s books remain subject to the statutory retention described in the privacy notice. Everything else we delete.

Changes

If these terms change, we update the date above and tell you by email before the change applies.

A change never asks anything of you retroactively. If you do not agree with a change, you take your books out and stop.

Governing law

Swiss law applies. The place of jurisdiction is Hinwil, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
