On Today, every card takes you there with one button
On a laptop, the cards under Today had a Details button that did nothing you could see. It is gone. Each card now takes you straight to where you deal with the matter. For receipts the button opens the camera, and View next to it shows the list.
If you left a tip at a restaurant, the card payment is higher than the receipt. Bilanzi now finds the payment anyway, as long as the restaurant’s name is on your bank statement. Under Bank you can see how much the tip was. One click books the receipt and the tip together. The tip goes without VAT on the same account as the receipt.
When the AI reads a receipt or answers a question about your books, it now does so in Switzerland. The provider is Infomaniak in Geneva. Until now the model ran with a provider in the United States. So your receipts no longer leave Switzerland for the AI. As before, nothing is posted until you accept a suggestion.
If you photograph a receipt before the payment is on your bank statement, Bilanzi keeps the receipt ready. You do not need to book it yourself. As soon as you upload the statement, the receipt appears under Bank, next to its payment. One click books both together, once. The Today screen shows you which receipts are still waiting for the statement.
Pick the file from your e-banking and Bilanzi works out the columns by itself. You then see how many payments it found, for which period, and what came in and went out. One click on “Take over” and the payments are in your list. Before, you had to assign every column yourself and confirm four times. Exports from Zürcher Kantonalbank with collective orders and reserved card payments now read correctly too.
Under More you now find the Bilanzi group. What’s new shows what we have shipped, and a dot tells you when something has arrived since your last visit. Website takes you back to the bilanzi.ch home page. It works the same on the phone and on a laptop.
With a lot of entries, the Today screen could take up to a minute before your figures appeared. Now it is ready in a few seconds. Other lists with many entries open faster too.
The figures on Today appear even without a running financial year
The figures at the top of the Today screen now show your profit and your bank even when no financial year is running today. They use the same period as the charts below and say which one it is. If that period is already over, the bank balance is the one on its last day. Until now you only read «Nothing booked yet» in that case.
The charts on the Today screen now show figures even when no financial year is running today. They then use the most recent period in your books and name its start and end. Until now you only saw how old your open invoices were in that case.
The Today screen now shows how your year is going. One chart puts revenue and expenses side by side for every month. Another shows how much money sat in the bank and the till at the end of each month. You also see your largest expenses and how long your open invoices have been waiting. Point at a month to read the exact figures.
Ask Bilanzi tells you whether you are making a profit
Ask Bilanzi now knows your income statement even when no financial year is running today. It then uses the most recent period in your books and tells you which one. Ask “Am I making a profit?” and you get a figure. Before, it only pointed you to the year-end closing.
Six new pages on year-end closing, receipts, payroll and more
Six topics now have a page of their own: year-end closing, scanning receipts, payroll, free accounting software, and accounting for a sole proprietorship and for a GmbH. Where the law sets duties, the page links to the legal text published by the Confederation. Each page also says what Bilanzi does today and what is still missing. Under Features, every entry in the menu now opens its own page.
On the Pricing page, Monthly is now selected when you arrive. So the first price you see is what a plan costs each month. Switch to Yearly to see the price for the whole year, with two months free.
Next to the date, every entry now shows a number, for example #200. It names the release that brought the change. When an entry covers two releases, both numbers are shown. Clicking the number takes you straight to that entry, so you can share the link.
Every paid plan has a monthly budget for the AI. Settings › Subscription shows how much of it is used and when it starts again. Once it is used up, the AI pauses until the next month. You keep booking by hand as usual.
Ask Bilanzi and receipt reading are part of Starter, Business and Fiduciary. With Ask Bilanzi you ask about your figures or have an invoice drafted from one sentence. The AI also reads your receipts and suggests entries. The Free plan has no AI. All of the bookkeeping stays free there. The pricing page and Settings › Subscription show what each plan includes.
When you photograph a receipt, the camera image now appears right in the frame. Line the receipt up with the four corners and press the shutter. The photo shows exactly what was in the frame. The first time, your browser asks whether Bilanzi may use the camera. If you say no, the shutter opens your phone’s camera app as before.
Under Settings › Subscription you pick a plan and pay by card, TWINT, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Your plan is active as soon as you have paid. The subscription then renews on its own with the same payment method. You can cancel any time, effective at the end of the paid period. Moving to a bigger plan credits the time you have not used. Your receipts are on the same screen.
On the phone, no bar scrolls sideways any more. When an area has two parts, such as Customers and Suppliers, you pick them right under the title. Everything else is a list under More, including Account, Notices and Sign out. Every screen has its own address, and the back arrow, the browser's back button and a swipe from the left edge lead to the same place. You switch business under the title of Today or under More. On a laptop, these lists sit in a second column beside your work.
Create your own account with Google, Apple or email
You no longer need an invitation link. Under Start for free you create your account yourself, with Google, Apple or your email address. Then you set up your business in seven short steps. You start on the Free plan, and it stays free.
The new Pricing page shows all four plans with their prices and compares them line by line. The free plan is now called Free and includes all the bookkeeping. Starter adds payroll, Business several companies and Fiduciary the mandates. You can’t buy a paid plan online yet.
The home page now says briefly what Bilanzi does and takes you further from there. What works today, what is in beta and what is still missing is all on the Features page. New things are listed at the top under What’s new, with a dot while they are fresh. This list is now also available as RSS.
Beta modules apply to the business chosen at the top
If you belong to several organizations, a beta module used to be switched on in the first one. The switch under Settings › Subscription now applies to the organization of the business you chose at the top. The warning above a section disappears as soon as the module is switched on there.
Invoices now appear as a list by month, and each row shows whether an invoice is open, overdue, paid or a draft. The detail view shows the invoice exactly as your customer receives it, including the QR payment slip. A new invoice only needs a customer, the services and a payment term. The bank shows all payments by day, and in VAT you switch between quarters with two arrows.
We count which public pages are visited. We use no cookies, no consent banner and no identifier stored in your browser. If you have turned on Do Not Track, you are not counted. We count nothing inside the workspace. The privacy notice explains which data is sent.
Without a subscription, you use Bilanzi on the starter tier: one company, two people and two gigabytes for your receipts. It includes all of the accounting, with receipts, invoices, bank, VAT and year-end closing. The starter tier stays free after the official launch, and if you cancel a subscription, you keep all your data. Under Settings › Subscription you can switch on payroll, AI proposals and the interface as beta features. Fiduciaries with several clients still need the fiduciary plan.
Under Account › My feedback you can see the status of each piece of feedback: accepted, in progress, shipped, answered or declined. We always give a reason when we decline. The status updates automatically when we start working on it or ship the change. You get an email when your feedback has been implemented or your question answered. At the top of this page you can see, per area, how much feedback is accepted and in progress, without its text.
When you sign up via “Become a tester”, you get your personal access link by email right away. You no longer have to wait for us to approve you. The link is valid for thirty days and works once. We still read what you tell us about your business.
On your phone, a bar at the bottom takes you to Today, Bank, Invoices and More. In its middle sits the button for photographing a receipt. On a computer, the same four sections sit on the left edge. Today first shows what you need to decide, then your profit since the start of the year and upcoming deadlines. Under More › How it’s going you see profit, revenue and expenses by month. If your device uses dark mode, the workspace does too.
More room on your phone, forms only when you need them
On phones, the bars used to take up a quarter of the screen. Company, notices and account now sit at the top and scroll away with the page, and only the sections stay at the bottom. The feedback button is now in the account menu. In accounts, fixed assets, cost centres, expenses and other lists, the list comes first and the form for a new entry only opens when you click.
